Problem Statement

A point P P is outside a circle and is 13 13 inches from the center. A secant from P P cuts the circle at Q Q and R R so that the external segment of the secant PQ PQ is 9 9 inches and QR QR is 7 7 inches. The radius of the circle is: <spanclass=latexbold>(A) 3"<spanclass=latexbold>(B) 4"<spanclass=latexbold>(C) 5"<spanclass=latexbold>(D) 6"<spanclass=latexbold>(E) 7" (A)\ 3" \qquad (B)\ 4" \qquad (C)\ 5" \qquad (D)\ 6" \qquad (E)\ 7"
