Problem Statement

Points AA and BB are given on a line having no common points with a sphere KK. The feet PP of the perpendicular from the center of KK to the line ABAB is positioned between AA and BB, and the lengths of segments APAP and BPBP both exceed the radius of KK. Consider the set ZZ of all triangles ABCABC whose sides ACAC and BCBC are tangent to KK. Prove that among all triangles in ZZ, a triangle TT with a maximum perimeter also has a maximum area.
