Problem Statement

The length of the hypotenuse BCBC of a right triangle ABCABC is aa, and on it the points MM and NN are taken such that BM=NC=kBM = NC = k, with k<a/2k < a/2. Assuming that (only) the data aa and kk are known, calculate: a) The value of the sum of the squares of the lengths AMAM and ANAN. b) The ratio of the areas of triangles ABCABC and AMNAMN. c) The area enclosed by the circle that passes through the points A,M,NA, M' , N' , where MM' is the orthogonal projection of MM onto ACAC and NN' that of NN onto ABAB.
