Problem Statement

At the midpoint of line segment AB AB which is p p units long, a perpendicular MR MR is erected with length q q units. An arc is described from R R with a radius equal to 12AB \frac{1}{2}AB, meeting AB AB at T T. Then AT AT and TB TB are the roots of: (A)\ x^2\plus{}px\plus{}q^2\equal{}0 \\ (B)\ x^2\minus{}px\plus{}q^2\equal{}0 \\ (C)\ x^2\plus{}px\minus{}q^2\equal{}0 \\ (D)\ x^2\minus{}px\minus{}q^2\equal{}0 \\ (E)\ x^2\minus{}px\plus{}q\equal{}0
