Problem Statement

Define a sequence: x0=1x_0=1 and for all n0n\ge 0, x2n+1=xnx_{2n+1}=x_{n} and x2n+2=xn+xn+1x_{2n+2}=x_{n}+x_{n+1}. Prove that for any relatively prime positive integers aa and bb, there is a non-negative integer nn such that a=xna=x_n and b=xn+1b=x_{n+1}.
